Scheduled Auto Maintenance Services: The 30,000 mile service is where you will start seeing some of the vehicle service flushes, such as the brake fluid, engine coolant and transmission fluid, as well as spark plugs, air filters and the fuel filter.

The 60,000 mile service may be referred to as a “tune-up”. In addition to all that is done at the 30,000 mile service, the 60,000 mile service is where you will start seeing the replacement of additional fluids like the automatic transmission fluid (filter if equipped), engine coolant and differential fluids. Some vehicles will require the timing belt replacement and valve adjustment at this mileage interval.

The 90,000 mile service is where you will see some of the fluids replaced, such as the brake fluid, engine coolant and transmission fluid, as well as spark plugs, air filters and the fuel filter. At 90,000 miles you may start seeing the wear and tear on items like the drive belts, coolant hoses, motor mounts and suspension bushings starting to show signs of wear. Oil leaks may start to appear as well.

Brakes Replacement: Every vehicle’s brakes seem to wear a little different, so a complete and bi-annual inspection is the best way to adequately determine the wear on the front brake pads and rotors as well as the rear brake pads and rotors. B’s Auto offers a free brake check included with every oil change and we also have a brake display model to show how your brake repair will be done.

Cooling System Service: Cooling systems are better and more different now than cars built in the 80’s and 90’s. The average replacement is done at 75K. Climate changes and severe driving conditions could cause the need for replacement earlier. Always choose factory recommended coolant, do not mix coolants. Original coolant will add life to the exchange. Have your car routinely serviced; our technicians will check your coolant as part of our 35 pt courtesy check with your oil change.

Timing Belt Replacement: Approximately 65% of all cars and SUVs have a timing belt that needs to be replaced from 60K – 100K depending on factory recommendations. You can’t inspect the timing belt; you need to follow the manufacturer recommended replacement. Failure to replace it could cause the belt to break and it could lead to possible severe engine damage. At B’s Auto we have a timing belt display to help you visually understand the components of this repair which include: timing belt, water pump, rollers, tensioners, and seals.

Diagnostics – Check Engine Light: Most vehicles, both import and domestic, have on board computers. Almost always when the check engine light comes on, it means the computer has detected a malfunction. If the check engine light is flashing, it means it is more urgent. A steady check engine light is cautionary and you should get your vehicle checked soon. Our technicians are certified and trained to scan and diagnose your check engine light for codes set by your vehicle’s computer.

Fuel Pump Repair: Most vehicles have an electric fuel pump in the gas tank. The average life is about 100K and typical failures are hard starting or a noise from the rear of the car. Keeping your tank with a minimum of ¼ tank of gas will add life to the pump, because gas keeps the pump cool preventing premature failure.

Shocks and Struts Replacement: Shocks and struts tend to lose their handling qualities over time. After approximately 50K, shocks and struts could start to leak and have excessive bounce. Annual inspections will keep you informed on their condition. It is also recommended to get your alignment and suspension checked at least once a year.

Oil Changes: Routine service is critical to having your vehicle visually inspected with your oil change. Average recommended oil change is every 3,000 – 5,000 miles. Cars using a synthetic oil are changed every 7,500 – 10,000 miles. B’s Auto offers a 35 pt courtesy check with every oil change service to help you keep on your vehicle’s routine maintenance.

A/C Service: All vehicles have a sealed system and should not lose refrigerant. When your car blows warm air from your air conditioner, it has developed a small leak. Testing needs to be done to determine the where the leak is by our EPA certified technicians and to repair it. It is best to cycle your a/c system every other month to keep system lubricated.

Tire and Wheel Balancing: The average tire life on most vehicles is 30K – 40K. Proper inflation and rotations done every 5,000 miles. Balancing should only be needed if you have a vibration or you dismount your tires. We have many sources for tires that includes free road hazard, in addition to purchasing tires with us we offer free rotation for the life of the tires. An alignment is also recommended when installing a new set of tires.

Clutch Repair: Clutch life on most vehicles is 100K. Common symptoms of clutch failure are a slipping condition or what feels like no power in higher gears like 3rd to 5th gear. If your clutch pedal falls to the floor, your clutch could be fine. Instead you have a hydraulic problem (fluid), which is easier and usually less expensive than a total clutch replacement. Contact our service advisors for a free estimate to help determine the exact problem with your clutch.

Battery Charging Systems: Average life on most batteries is 5 – 7 years. Symptoms are no start or very slow crank. A battery indicator light means you have a charging system issue, not a battery problem. Routine services will provide battery and cable maintenance. We carry Deka Batteries with various warranties.
